  • Light rose petal color. Smells of roses, earth, pickles, lambic beer, black tea. Focused, almost intense acidity on the palate, the tannins are soft but provide just enough structure. Tart strawberries and wild strawberries, but the non-fruit elements rule: tobacco, earth, herbal tea, rhubarb, anise, herbs and roses. Finishes with flavors that I will call tar and sour patch kids. I realize that sounds ridiculous and idiotic, but this is crazy stuff and I love it. 11.5% alcohol, 60% Pinot Noir, 29% Poulsard and 11% Trousseau.

  • Truly great wine. Slightly bricking orange/rose. Tart nose with red fruit, earth, and slight acrid green (still enjoyable tho). Taste was all muted sweet red fruits, rosewater, earth, strong minerality, interesting greenness, and long finish. Really, really nice. For the AFWE crowd. Probably an 85 for those that like big fruited wines.

  • A new discovery for me and definitely a producer I'll be checking in with again. Although many of the Jura whites strike me as funky and odd, this red was an honest and straightforward wine maybe a tad reminiscent of a classic Bordeaux on account of its crispness and elegance. Notes of sour cherry, red apple peel, tobacco and clay in the profile.

  • Very open expressive, showing a bit more brightness than the 11 but more openness than the 2009. Lovely roses, dusty earth, black tea and charcoal nose. Fresh and silky, crushed red fruit is crisp and cool, backed up by earth, graphite, mineral and bergamot. A very pretty wine that showed well after being open a few hours. Will hold this for a year or two though. Great bargain at $20.
