Sunday, November 13, 2016 - From the wine list at Charlie Bird (NYC). I thought this was a great example of a mature Taurausi, that still has a lot of life in it. Color was only slightly browning at the edges - still lots of red. On the nose this was quite earthy, but not funky. The fruit has tamed down, but it still present, tertiary notes of tar, smoke, and stony minerality seem to take more center stage. Finish is medium. Really fun and enjoyable, but end of a long wine dinner so not really focused on as much as it deserved.
