Friday, January 27, 2017 - Subsequent notes of this wine from close to three years ago. Deep dark garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of complex ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, boysenberries & currants with overtones of floral notes of rose & spices notes of cloves & cinnamon, smoky, minerals, some cocoa, dried herbs, toasted oak & a slight hint of vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, complex, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & blueberries with spices, dried herbs, some cocoa, toasty oak & a gentle touch of vanilla. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at present. It has pretty much stayed the same as when sampled previously with little development which tells me it is close to or at its peak of development at 11 years of age. I concur with other's comments that it resembles more a Cali Pinot than Oregon in style.
