Thursday, March 9, 2017 - I do like L-B's presentation, and the frosted bottle here looks especially good. Fairly deep orange-pink. Distinctive nose with red fruit, but also rather vegetal. The shop assistant said it had a metallic tang, and I can see exactly what he meant. Blood orange and a touch of grapefruit; quite spicy. This is, as I was led to believe, a very different kind of pink champagne, or rather, a light red wine with bubbles. It's fairly challenging and robust, and could work well with meat, perhaps rack of lamb or rosé veal. [Cork + cage; 12.5% abv; WoodWinters, £47].
