When they arrive they immediately remove six hectares out of merlot because it was planted on Cabernet soil. The haut de pedesclaux is not young vineyards, it's vineyards that are all within Paulliac, but for whatever French governmental reasons these vineyards cannot be stuck into the paulliac label.

There is room to grow for them they say, they are a hidden gem, and I would agree with that.

The precision of the tannins, the balance, freshness and the strength of paulliac. Very complete, and it's just a baby I am being told and I would say that is the case.

On the haut - blind it could be a saint julien.

50% new oak. On the main wine. Fleur is 45% and four months shorter.
