Wednesday, June 28, 2017 - Tasted blind. Clear, medium (+) yellow with copper hues. A definite marker for Pinot Gris. The nose is clean, with ripe to overripe apple, pear, lemon, wet stone and quite a bit of lees notes. The palate is dry, but with plenty of ripe fruit. The acidity is medium (+) and the alcohol is medium (+) to high (14%). The palate is consistent with the nose, but also has a pleasant bitter note on the finish, which is another marker for Pinot Gris. This is a full-bodied expression of Pinot Gris, with medium (+) flavors intensity and length. It is showing a little age - but is still drinking very well - and should do fine for another year or so. A remarkably complex wine and a great value at $20.
