Pale golden pour, a floral nose of lychee and honey and the slightest of oak. The wine is slightly sweet with a medium plus body. It was a much sweeter and fuller wine that I would have thought from a Pinot Gris - the finish had a slightly off taste. This wine smells much better than it tastes. Maybe with a little time in the glass it will improve...

Some interesting TNs associated with this wine. I will take a less quantitative approach. Golden color with maybe just a hint of pink, somewhat muted aroma but faintly floral, orange blossom, honeysuckle; I found it to be quite interesting on the palate with medium acidity, notable minerality, some subdued tropical fruit. In Alsace it is all about the terroir and this kind of wine manifests that.

Tasted blind. Clear, medium (+) yellow with copper hues. A definite marker for Pinot Gris. The nose is clean, with ripe to overripe apple, pear, lemon, wet stone and quite a bit of lees notes. The palate is dry, but with plenty of ripe fruit. The acidity is medium (+) and the alcohol is medium (+) to high (14%). The palate is consistent with the nose, but also has a pleasant bitter note on the finish, which is another marker for Pinot Gris. This is a full-bodied expression of Pinot Gris, with medium (+) flavors intensity and length. It is showing a little age - but is still drinking very well - and should do fine for another year or so. A remarkably complex wine and a great value at $20.

A: Medium to deep gold N: Medium (-) intensity. I really had to swirl and sniff a lot to get much off the nose. Pear tart, orange blossom, orange peel, honey a touch of wet stone and a little bitter twig. P: Dry, medium alcohol, full body, medium intensity, medium (+) finish. C: Body was a surprise for me but G. says that this body is TYPICAL OF ALSATIAN PINOT GRIS.

Elegant stonefruits, rather light despite the power. Will probably develop good with a few more years. Elegant!
