Tuesday, January 2, 2018 - This wine has certainly lived up to my expectations! Dark black and blue with purple and fruits that match the color profile, including Black and Blueberry, and plum with a spice I can't put my finger (or nose) on. Earth and mineral notes mid-palate and a finish that goes on and on. This is a pure example of Cabernet at its best. Interestingly, with a short decant, it was open for business. Throughout my tasting, this was such a pleasure to drink.

Chris Tynan's signature masterpiece Cabernet from The Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard has its own style, its own profile and its own taste and it is amazing. This is very different from other wines that I like, and this has it all. Too bad there is none left to purchase!

1/2/2018 5:13:00 PM - Thanks for the post. Really helpful. I have 2 bottles but will hold for now. After reading RP’s review which blew my mind the way he described his experience drinking this wine, I have been very tempted. I have the 12 as well and have tried one. I liked it and also found it to be very unique for Cali Cab but wasn’t blown away by it. I am hoping the 13 is different. Your review is extremely encouraging.

1/2/2018 5:49:00 PM - Yep - if you have 2, I would wait. I really did like the '12 MG but the '13 and '14 are much, much better. I would suggest that when you open one, take a little sip and then decant it for a couple of hours and try it again. It gets better and better. Lucky us!

Was going to open the 2013. How long should I decant this? I imagine pop and pour would be short changing this wine's capability.

    Thanks.

Another option is if you have a Coravin or Repour. If you do, you can pour yourself a glass and test it out. If you are unfamiliar with Repour, I would highly recommend it for your better wines. It's essentially $2/bottle and will keep the bottle in tact. Amazon sells them.
