Sunday, June 10, 2018 - An example of the so called luminous label, which is downright tacky. The wine, however, is a treat, as always. 2009 was nor a great vintage for champagne, and most large houses are realeasing their prestige wines from the 09 vintage before the 08 vintage. This means that this is a DP at optimal maturity, with all its beauty. Straw yellow with a greenish hue. The bubbles are, as always, perfect: small, persistent and elegant. Wonderfful nose dominated by citrus, green apples, some chalk, honey and a hint of bread. Like velvet in the mouth, the bubbles are caressing, not aggressive as in many other highly priced champagnes. A bit low in acidity, but still the taste is fresh, dominated by citrus and green apples with a clear streak of honey. Long. This is just impressive to drink right now, but I would not keep this for too long. Will keep for at least five more years, but then I guess oxidation will set in. Love this wine.
