Tuesday, August 28, 2018 - Opened in the bottle for 3 hours and just started to come around near the end. Deep ruby color with clear white rim. Initially very tight, acidic and tart. Tartness was eventually replaced by fresh almost super ripe strawberries, dried figs, vanilla, sweet pipe tobacco, and thyme. The acid sticks around but very silky and very elegant with long/smooth tannins. Needs a few more years but in a great spot now after substantial time open.
