Tuesday, September 4, 2018 - Deep, dark garnet in color with ever so slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy/dusty notes, dried herbs of anise, spice notes of sandalwood, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with earthy, spices, dried herbs, mushrooms & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks well at present with decanting and extended airing but even at 12 years of age, it will continue to develop and benefit from additional aging as well.
