Saturday, December 15, 2018 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 5 *shared* Reds] from 12/14/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): "We hand harvest & manually sort; once in the vyd & once in the winery. The P.N. is destemed & gravity guides the whole berries into open topped fermenters." 896 cases made

N: ATTRACTIVELY *ripe* wild straws/red rasps with floral undertones? Intensity lurking

P: Med, poss MF, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.) met by the BAREST *hint* of astringent pucker which QUITE resolves by the LONG, slightly spicy finish with a tangy/swtness to the virtually nonexistent, very, VERY fine tannins. For now & into, probably through, '20. Well made, but ATYPICAL in its minimal structure. My VG+/EXC-, which I'm thinking would be a downrate for many. 14.6% ABV; 95 pts WA & 94 Vinous (Galloni). [This vendor's $39.95 is $2 < wine-searcher's lowest posting.]
