This needed air. One hour decant in the cellar and an additional 30-40 minutes in the fridg and it's good to go. Used the New World Pinot Glass for this one. Just a touch of sweetness with piercing red muddled fruit. On the palate it is super smooth and elegant with a most pleasing viscosity, absolutely fabulous. Drinking so nicely today I wouldn't wait if I had others.

Third wine in a seven course wine and food pairing NYE party. This needed a solid 90 minute decant as it is candied and sweet upon opening!!! Luckily the confection blows off and while still bright red fruit driven, it becomes much drier and the spice and structure step into the picture. Even develops a bit of cola and tea leaf notes on the finish. A very easy wine to like with enough air and paired beautifully with lamb meatballs in ratatouille.

Medium red; lovely fruity nose; lots of ripe strawberry, sweet, slight hint of licorice; really nice and well-balanced, lots of summer with good density

We love this one, a full-bore example of the CA treatment of Pinot Noir. A faint nose on opening but huge on the palate right from the start. Very smooth, lots of sweet cherries, and a long finish that lingers in the throat. Get some of this if you like them big and meaty.

Open, outgoing aromatics, cranberry, clove. Quite spicy palate, with lively acidity supporting ripe fruit tones. Attractive, tasty juice for near term drinking. Would have liked a bit more backbone, but sure was fun to drink.

P: Med, poss MF, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.) met by the BAREST *hint* of astringent pucker which QUITE resolves by the LONG, slightly spicy finish with a tangy/swtness to the virtually nonexistent, very, VERY fine tannins. For now & into, probably through, '20. Well made, but ATYPICAL in its minimal structure. My VG+/EXC-, which I'm thinking would be a downrate for many. 14.6% ABV; 95 pts WA & 94 Vinous (Galloni). Very enjoyable now, particularly after a couple hours of air time, and will only get better with more cellar time. Drink now or hold.

This 2016 PINOT is too young to drink. I think two years from now, it will be ready. By now, it is too juicy ...
