Friday, January 4, 2019 - Winorama: A winter in Wineland III; 1/4/2019-1/13/2019 (Portland/Willamette, Eureka, Napa): Somehow I never realized this producer made a white and I certainly didn't know that it is similar to the Rayas blend with a lot of Clairette (40%) in addition to grenache blanc and a few other grapes. Probably not fair to have my comparison point be Rayas because this is not that. Much lower acidity. Much more like a standard white rhone where it's a bit thick and viscous. Lots of white flowers and white fleshy fruit. There's this weird sortof kick in the mid-palate which keeps it from feeling too overdone.
