Monday, January 14, 2019 - Brought with us to Seared 1200 Steakhouse in St. Pete Beach ($15 corkage - $0 if you share with your server). Not surprisingly, a young looking, dark, semi-opaque crimson in the glass - right up to the edge - but unexpectedly fruity on both the nose and palate. Effusively so. Big, rich and mouth-filling, bursting with ripe, juicy plum and blackberry fruit. Shows very good depth and focus, yet still seems quite restrained on the mid-palate. Finishes very long, with silky tannins and lots of sweet, opulent fruit. Big, but very polished, this beauty is still a baby and quite primary. A huge fruit bomb right now. Needs another 2-3 years - at least - to realize its full potential. Should be an absolute knockout by then.
