Saturday, February 9, 2019 - For a wine that seemed to almost completely lack a nose, it really turned out to be nearly outstanding. Could tell this was once quite a big boy, but seems to have mellowed with age allowing tertiary elements like tobacco and floral notes to stand out, and what was likely an almost sweet candied youthful palate to become simply integrated and mature, contained and balanced by these other notes, with enough cherry remaining to keep it tasty. The wine kept evolving over a couple hours, though never really got any nose to open up. Anyway, a quite nice wine and a very good, mature place. I would not hang on to these much longer IMO. If you have it, enjoy it, it really is an interesting wine.
