Saturday, June 1, 2019 - Sat, 06/01/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache grown in an accumulation of rounded pebbles; "Made by draining off the vat. Its color is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 & 12 hrs. Fermentation takes place in s/s tanks with the temperature controlled at 64°F."

N: An intriguing mineral/EARTHY, almost funky, character which leads into hints of oranges?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) nicely counterbalanced by an acidity which sets the parameters into & through the LONG, tangy/swt finish. Primarily a sipper that COULD work with luncheon (i.e., lighter) fare. For now & into EARLY '21. My VG+/EXC-, the higher poss for QPR, *all* of this assuming the "unusual" N of it least this bottle is NOT an issue. [This vendor's $9.95 now puts it @ the bottom of the TOP 1/2 of wine-searcher's postings.]

Note: Also tasted on 4/20/2019
