  • Fun right out of the gate. Mouth-cleansing notes of red berries, navel oranges, and just a tinge of minerals. Very good with nice energy on the finish.

  • The stone fruit is a bit sour on the front. Rounds somewhat to berry on the back of the palate. Better when enjoyed with a salad.

  • A great little sipper, not super complicated, but gets the job done nicely.
    Buy drink repeat!

  • Very berry with a bit of candied citrus peel. Very bright and enjoyable, certainly a good value (and flexible) summer wine.

  • Sat, 01/11/20, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): VERY slightly chilled

70% Syrah & 30% Grenache grown in an accumulation of rounded pebbles; "Made by draining off the vat. Its color is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 & 12 hrs. Fermentation takes place in s/s tanks with the temperature controlled at 64°F." 50,000 cases imported.

N: Fragrant FLOWERS *slightly* atop minerals, grapes underneath

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) offset by an acidity which almost discretely drives the bus into & through the LONG, balanced finish with an enticing tangy/swtness (45:55). For now & into '21. A versatile style probably SLIGHTLY better as a quaff, but should also be able to work with lighter fare. 13% ABV; My EXC- (& that's without taking into consideration its *impressive* QPR). 90 pts Vinous (Reynolds, 8/1/19), 88 + a "Best Buy" from WE (Iijima, 9/1/19) @ $11, 87 WS (9/30/19), & Dan Berger's "Rosé Value of the Year (to date)" [7/23/19]. [This vendor's $9.95 is NOW in the TOP 1/2 of wine-searcher's dwindling field.]

    Note: Also tasted on 4/20, 6/1, 6/22, 7/27, & 11/30/19.

  • Sat, 11/30/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache grown in an accumulation of rounded pebbles; "Made by draining off the vat. Its color is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 & 12 hrs. Fermentation takes place in s/s tanks with the temperature controlled at 64°F." 50,000 cases imported.

N: CLOSED; Guessing minerals/flowers SLIGHTLY atop grapes?

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.) offset by an acidity which subtly keeps things in check into & through the LONG, balanced, tangy/swt finish with OCCASIONAL *glimpses* of a very, VERY slight bitterness which should be a + with food. A versatile style with enough heft to accompany lighter fare. For now & into, prob through, '21. 13% ABV; My EXC-, & I'd at least LISTEN to an argument for > based upon QPR. 90 pts Vinous (Reynolds, 8/1/19), 88 + a "Best Buy" from WE (Iijima, 9/1/19) @ $11, 87 WS (9/30/19), & Dan Berger's "Rosé Value of the Year (to date)" [7/23/19]. • 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache. Bled off the vat of what would become their red after 4-12 hours. No formal notes. 87 points.

  • Sat, 07/27/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache grown in an accumulation of rounded pebbles; "Made by draining off the vat. Its color is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 & 12 hrs. Fermentation takes place in s/s tanks with the temperature controlled at 64°F." 50,000 cases imported.

N: Pears slightly atop grapes with flowers & minerals underneath

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) nicely balanced by an acidity which subtly controls the action into & through the LONG, balanced, very, VERY slightly bitterish finish. Did better with a spicy, soft taco that I would have predicted! For now & through '20, POSS *early* '21. My VG+, poss higher for the QPR of this vendor's $9.95, which is NOW in the TOP 1/3 of wine-searcher's dwindling field. Dan Berger's "Rosé Value of the Year (to date)" [7/23/19]

  • Light pale pink in color. Full, fragrant & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of strawberries, cherries & watermelon with overtones of floral notes, some spices & minerals. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, crisp, ripe fruit flavors of strawberries, cranberries & sour cherries with some spices & minerals. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at present & has some limited potential for additional development with another year of aging but definitely best consumed in its youth. An indicative blend of 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache Noir.

  • Sat, 06/22/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache grown in an accumulation of rounded pebbles; "Made by draining off the vat. Its color is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 & 12 hrs. Fermentation takes place in s/s tanks with the temperature controlled at 64°F."

N: Fragrant FLOWERS with notes of oranges, with hints of raisins underneath?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with nice, ALMOST swtish, applish frt (threshold R.S.?) counterbalanced by an acidity which keeps things in check through the LONG, VERY slightly bitterish finish with HINTS of swtness. The finish probably pushes this wine into being BETTER suited with food. For now & through '20 (safely). My VG+; [This vendor's $9.95 now puts it @ the top of the bottom 1/2 of wine-searcher's postings.]

    Note: Also tasted on 4/20 & 6/1/2019.

  • Sat, 06/01/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache grown in an accumulation of rounded pebbles; "Made by draining off the vat. Its color is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 & 12 hrs. Fermentation takes place in s/s tanks with the temperature controlled at 64°F."

N: An intriguing mineral/EARTHY, almost funky, character which leads into hints of oranges?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) nicely counterbalanced by an acidity which sets the parameters into & through the LONG, tangy/swt finish. Primarily a sipper that COULD work with luncheon (i.e., lighter) fare. For now & into EARLY '21. My VG+/EXC-, the higher poss for QPR, *all* of this assuming the "unusual" N of it least this bottle is NOT an issue. [This vendor's $9.95 now puts it @ the bottom of the TOP 1/2 of wine-searcher's postings.]

  • Red fruit and melon up front, thinner and vanishing towards the back. Is what it is, year after year... simple and tasty.

  • Sat, 04/20/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache grown in an accumulation of rounded pebbles; "Made by draining off the vat. Its color is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 & 12 hrs. Fermentation takes place in s/s tanks with the temperature controlled at 64°F."

N: FRAGRANT grapiness slightly atop flowers, with minerals WAY underneath?

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with nice, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) counterbalanced by an acidity which keeps things in check into & through the LONG, balanced, tangy/swt finish with an OCCASIONAL *glimpse* of a very, VERY slight bitterness that encourages... MORE. Strikes me as being equally adept as a quaff or @ the table with lighter fare. For now & through '20, poss longer. My VG+/EXC-, the higher arguably for QPR? [This vendor's $9.95 puts it in the top 1/3 of wine-searcher's postings.]
