Thursday, June 6, 2019 - This is a classic bottle of Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay that is perhaps in an in-between phase at 4 years. The colour is classic pale green gold and the nose has the lovely melange of pear flavours with dried pear perhaps the most prominent and touches of white nectarine and grapefruit and yuzu, cashew and stone. The palate is just a little disjointed with a separation between the dense and layered fruit and the oak derived elements that seem to need time to meld completely. A quibble perhaps but in this famous line something to note and revisit.
