Saturday, June 15, 2019 - Probably five or more years past the end of its drinking window. While the 2000 Hayne that preceded it was DOA, this was actually holding up better than expected. Nice dark red. Kind of pruney on the nose, but not unpleasant. Noticeable heat, but not too obtrusive. More prunes on the palate, along with a healthy dose of chocolate. Light-to-medium body and certainly not as plush as it probably was back in the day, but it produced a really rich and fairly lengthy finish.
