89 Points

Saturday, January 25, 2020 - Coravin sample. Somewhat more developed than when I last tasted this in 2016. The tertiary flavours are more evident although there is still some primary fruit. Tannins a little more drying than I remember and the finish slightly shorter. Has potential for further development. No hurry to drink.

The wine is clear and medium garnet in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of ripe red fruit (red currant, cherry), oak (smoke, clove), spice (liquorice), floral (violet), tertiary (forest floor, savoury, mushroom). The wine is developing.
The palate is dry with high acidity, medium ripe tannins, medium (+) alcohol, medium body, medium (+) intensity flavours of cherry, red currant, smoke, liquorice, violet, forest floor. The finish is medium +.
