90 Points

Sunday, August 2, 2020 - I often find Sancerre rouge a tad shrill and thin, but this was really nice. It pours very light, totally transparent, somewhere between deep pink and a very light pale ruby. Clearly cool climate pinot noir, reminiscent of German or Alsatian Pinot. The nose is of cranberry, tart pomegranate, thyme, crushed rock, and light whisps of spice. The palate is very acidic with a touch of tannin and a medium minus finish. Pleasant wine, though a somewhat questionable value at $30 CAD.
