Wednesday, September 23, 2020 - Deep dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, dried herbs, minerals, some spice, anise notes & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, dense, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, minerals, earthy, cocoa & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing but has the potential (& need) for additional aging to develop further. Should rate even higher with time (92+).
