Sunday, May 30, 2021 - Tulip yellow. A bit of the Raveneau honeysuckle admixed with sea breeze and lemon. Rich, round feeling entry with a kiss of oak followed by brisk lemon, orange peel, and salinity. Excellent bolstering acidity and soil. While a bottle 6 months ago was too ripe with fruit that tended to yellow apple rather than citrus, this brilliantly balanced the power and generosity of the vintage with more classic Chablis aromas and structure. An exciting bottle that was a superb foil to an omakase sushi meal. I prefer this to the even richer Montée de Tonnerre in this vintage.
