Wednesday, August 4, 2021 - Classic Chassagne. Still very young in color with clear green streaks in a clear, light yellow robe. Fine, but a little muted nose, dominated by peach, pear and yellow apples, as well as a very fine note of all spice, and some oak (but less than what I remember from my last tasting of this wine). Medium to full bodied, still very young fruit dominating the mid part (pear, peach), fine acidity, and a fine aftertaste where the spicey tones emerges again. Very nicely oaked, although the vanilla flavors are clearly detectable. Not a wine for those wanting the punch of a Meursault, more for those looking for an elegant white like Corton Charlemagne. Impressively young. Should be aged for at least five more years.
