91 Points

Thursday, September 16, 2021 - Wines at the Farmhouse; 9/11/2021-10/9/2021 (Carlton, OR): Nose: This was open from the morning before pouring. This was then wide open and pure with bright red fruits, strawberries, raspberries, red cherries, fresh picked berries, licorice, crushed rocks, sweet tobacco, herbs, and some leather notes. There is a great amount of purity and balance to this very attractive nose that is all about elegance with a touch of oomph.

Taste: The feel is Full bodied with tart, high acidity and silky, yet youthful tannins. The vibrancy and freshness of the nose carries through on the palate with bright red fruits, strawberries, raspberries, red cherries, licorice, crushed rocks, sweet tobacco, herbs, and leather notes.

Overall: Clearly this is a young wine. It also happens to be pretty damned good. This is all sorts primary right now but with loads of stuffing for this to age as gracefully as it is elegant right now. This will need to stay out of people’s reach because it will be way too tempting to dig in at many, many points even though it will greatly benefit from 6-8+ years of aging.
