Friday, November 5, 2021 - Knowing A de V's great interest in Bouzeron, I thought that I would try this.
They make a big play of having Aligoté Doré rather than Aligoté Vert, as it gives lower yields. So how does it stack up?
Colour: light gold, bright, clear
Nose: full, fresh, v ripe as to be expected from the year, soft, v ripe fruit flavours, apricot, peach rather than citrus flavours, no oak,
Taste: light body, rounded, soft at first but builds in the mouth ending in a gum puckering dryness. Seems to lack structure and acidity with a rather short finish. Oxidative notes too.
Overall, not hugely impressed. Would I rate it more highly blind and not being blinded by the V name? Hmmm...
