Monday, May 2, 2022 - Subsequent notes on this wine from about four years ago. Deep dark reddish-purple in color with ever-so-slight slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of blackberries, dark cherries & plums with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy/dusty notes, herbal notes of thyme, cocoa, spices, some tar, tobacco, minerals & cedar notes in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, spices, herbs, minerals & a touch of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing although even at 15 years of age, it should continue to develop with further aging if cellared properly.
