Saturday, August 20, 2022 - My btl at Siggy's gathering for his Seatle buddies. I gave this a 2-1/2hr decant then back in the btl & removed the cork again at Siggys upon arrival. I didn't taste at Siggys for at least another hour past my arrival as I stuck to champagne & whites first. So this got the correct amount of air to show well. With Siggys permission I pulled the corks on his 4 CDPs ( '09 &'10 Beucastel / '09 & '10 Pegau) shortly after arrival too. Those 4 saw much less air but got at least an hour w/o the corks in.

My '05 Beaucastel drank beautifully w/ a classic nose & a notably lifted palate w/ excellent fruit purity & elegance. I've turned my back on most CDP producers but Beaucastel with its lower % of grenache & old school style still rocks my world. I have two more of these and in no rush to open the next. These likely have at least another 10yrs of positive evolution. Now till 2035?
