Monday, March 18, 2013 - 1999 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut 6/10/2007. Having had this wine with my friend at our private outdoor party. It really did dazzled both of us. After accidentally spilling first glass on brand new hand made Persian rugs we sipped this wine with great enjoyment - it was a jaw dropping experience: the lemon citrus is very palpable, also peach, apple, almond, then blueberry, blackberry - just whole variety of forest bed. The finish is colossal and it's not quelled by abundance of aggressive bubbles. The persistence is amazing - it stays in mouth well over minute. Aristocratic, immensely crafted. Price is overly set, but reflects demand. 92-94 in Parker scale. Euro 180,-

3/18/2013 4:49:00 PM - It is amazing stuff. It seems to flow so easily down the throat. The finish is really the treat of Cristal. Thanks for the notes. I'm holding a singleton of 1999 for the next 6-7 years. Cristal also shines in its old age. I'm sitting on my bottles of '04.
