Sunday, May 19, 2013 - Sunday Brown Bag Tasting: 2009 Gigondas (Hoyer's): Deep crimson color. Initially quite reticent aromatically, eventually giving spice and generic red fruit notes. The palate features flavors of plum, red fruit, spice and garrigue tones. Very well-balanced across the entire palate with a wonderfully long finish. Would have scored it much higher had there been any bouquet to this wine. 91 pts.
