Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - The 2006 is a real beauty, and it's ready to go. It's a very dark red in the glass, and after 30-45 minutes you get aromas of roses mingled with bramble, a touch of spice and a hint of oak. There is medium-high acidity that melds with dark fruits, bitter cherry and lingering dark chocolate in the middle. Tannins are smooth but, with a swirl around the mouth, they come to the fore and then contrive to give a bitter tinge at the end. Finish is long. This 2006 Lisini BdM seems to be in its prime and has the bones to last. This is the first bottle out of a 6-pack. No need to rush to drink up, but certainly no need to wait. Will likely reach its 20th birthday in style. Lisini makes incredible ageworthy wines.
