Sunday, December 28, 2014 - This is really fantastic stuff. DG 10/2013.
Upon opening, straight out of the fridge, the nose shows off red apple skin, hazelnuts, pear, lemon, and some bread/yeast notes.
The palate is lively and energetic, with tart citrus fruits, some nuts and bread crust, and high acidity. The finish is long and deliciously balanced with inherent tartness, and the added sweetness from the dosage which softens and gives silky texture.
This is a high quality wine, drinking beautifully now, but will continue to improve over the next few years in bottle and this disgorgement will drink well through 2020 or so.
