Monday, May 27, 2013 - Italy Tasting (pirate): Medium ruby color. Nice aromatics of black currant/cassis, some earth and graphite and a hint of smoke. Medium body with medium but silky tannin and medium-high acidity providing freshness. Pretty long. Classic, elegant Bordeaux with freshness and nice complexity. Would deserve a higher rating if there was some more density on the mid-palate. It's drinking beautifully now.
