Friday, May 10, 2019 - The color is showing a golden hue hinting at this wine’s 10 years of age. Nose is showing just a little sprinkling of brown sugar over pure citrus. Tasted blind I’m 99% sure I’d have guested a similarly aged Huet chenin blanc. It has that honeyed, waxy pear characteristic. But then also a little smokey gunmetal that I associate with Chard. Palate is full bodied with a very fine almost silky texture. A very tightly integrated beam of acidity runs through it. Impressive length. Richer fruits on the palate. To me, this all comes together beautifully. But I am surprised to see more than 50% of these wines still in people’s cellar (thanks CT!). What are you folks waiting for??? :)
