Tuesday, March 7, 2017 - Clear bright deep garnet color. Medium-strong nose of dried cherries, forest floor, mushroom, leather, oak with a hint of pine oil or turpentine. On the palate - initially rather flat, but developed nicely with exposure to air, especially after about an hour - dried cherries, mushroom, lemon and oak with a moderate sweet note. Fully resolved tannins, full smooth mouthfeel, moderate acidity, moderate alcohol, very balanced and elegant, medium complexity, medium finish. This was a very enjoyable, well-made wine on the decline. Drink now.
