Monday, February 4, 2013 - A fantastic aged riesling. Dark golden color. Great nose of honey, candied quince, passion fruit, beeswax, petrol and sweet citrus fruit. Med+ bodied with noticeable sweetness (had it been German it would be an auslese in terms of ripeness and spatlese in terms of sweetness) which was a surprise to me since most P. Blanck Grand Cru rieslings - e.g. Schlossberg- I have come across to date were rather on the dry side, balancing acidity and a very long aftertaste. Fully mature but offering a great drinking experience.
