Sunday, January 15, 2012 - Popped and poured. Brick-red colour with orange rim. At first the nose is reticent, and one perceives mainly oak and a balsamic touch. After swirling a truffle note emerges. After a while (15-30 mins) the oak dissipates and a fresher more floral nose emerges, with the typical pinot red fruit in the background. The palate is very fresh and has a sweet red berries dominating aroma with a hint of menthol on the finish. Tannins are still present but are very fine.
After about one hour the nose had lost almost all its freshness, whereas the palate lasted longer. All in all a very enjoyable, memorable bottle.
