  • the cork was very soft and pushed into the bottle which wasn't a great sign. there was a hint of mustiness at the edge of the wine which never quite faded but was so slight that most didn't notice or mind it. as before this is fully mature and can't see any improvement to keeping longer. I don't know how long it will hold for if carefully stored, but these few bottles have been a real treat.

  • Popped and poured. Brick-red colour with orange rim. At first the nose is reticent, and one perceives mainly oak and a balsamic touch. After swirling a truffle note emerges. After a while (15-30 mins) the oak dissipates and a fresher more floral nose emerges, with the typical pinot red fruit in the background. The palate is very fresh and has a sweet red berries dominating aroma with a hint of menthol on the finish. Tannins are still present but are very fine.
After about one hour the nose had lost almost all its freshness, whereas the palate lasted longer. All in all a very enjoyable, memorable bottle.

  • Light body with tawny edging. Fully mature but benefits from a 30 min decant. forest floor and mushroom flavours over dark cherries now, nice length.
