Saturday, March 7, 2015 - I am a big fan of the 09 Burgundy so I could be biased. As I expected, it shed the jammy fruits showing classic Beaune nose of dark fruits, mineral and earth. The fruit impression has evolved red to black. What surprised me was that the nose has evolved much faster than I expected showing mushroom, stem and tree bark. The palate displays good concentration, round and soft texture, mineral, good acidity and nicely integrated tannins. It is neither polished nor complex but still very enjoyable. It is evolving nicely.
