Drank over two days vacuuming in bottle. Day 1, best in decanted 1.5 hours to give a good nose, pale brownish red color, light, with tertiary notes, tobacco noses after 2 hours. Day 2, poured from vacuum bottle, better nose of minerals, better mouth feel. Good to drink up now.

in a great place. glass on opening was tight and tart and didn't give up much; stoppered under a Repour and after 2 hours of warming and air the next day was fantastic. air it out!

Excellent. This keeps adding weight with each year. Decanted about 45 minutes. The last glass was the best. Elegant is the best word I can use to describe this. Similar to my last notes...only this glass was better

Wow. this caught me by surprise. bright red crunchy fruit, good acid, barely perceptible tannins. Long finish, good acid. This was super delicious and very, very enjoyable. Who knew this simplish cuvee could have been so great?

With Barbara Xmas eve. Decanted about two hours. Pale Burgundy. Lovely nose. Palate with depth of fruit, good acid balance. Very good, drinkable and enjoyable, will plan another in 2-3 years.

Jadotfest 2023 (Noizé, London): Medium red. Some dark and meaty elements on the nose, smoke and ash. Like the 1998 Ursules I find a high-toned glossy element here. This is sharp and focussed, with lovely rich fruit - it is a blend of something like 15 1er Cru, the vineyards in script partially forming the hair of the Jadot 'Gargoyle' - and more smoked meat. This is barely at the start of what will surely be a long drinking window. A magnum might live forever!

Jadotfest 2023 (Noizé, London): Smoky redcurrants on the nose. Some plum fruit and a hint of cocoa dusted cranberries too. Palate gloriously rich, some sweet smoky damsons, a little pepper and a couple of ppm of bacon fat.

A bit of a shy nose but lots of red fruits and earthy elements on the palate. I think this one may be in the middle of a shutdown phase and will probably be waiting a few years on the next bottle.

This has aged extremely well. It needed about 45 minutes to show well. Was somewhat harsh on opening but that totally changed with time in the glass. Strawberries, chocolate, cigar smoke. Ok mouthfeel and finish. Was a big hit with my pinot friends. Great qpr for what I paid.

Decanted for 2 hours and intended to serve for friends before a 2000 Pichon Baron. I decided it was not worthy and opted to serve the Pichon Baron followed by a Napa Cab. Two years ago I thought this wine was a little special, but not tonight.

I like how this wine is progressing. A mouthful of bright cherry fruit and slowly melting tannins. Joyful and juicy. Seems very much on the surface but there is some interesting underlying tension which merits attention. A great introduction to burgundy. A crowd pleaser that has credibility. (89)

Very nice and very ripe fruit but it seems to have sufficient balance to carry it. Seemed to shut down after about a half hour. It was decanted for several hours prior.

I had this for the first time a few years ago and again two years ago. Both times I was disappointed as the wine was very angular - in fact, only the obvious cellaring potential raised my score to 90-92 points.
Now, on the contrary, it is an elegant wine, with tannins almost fully dissolved, complementing the red berry (strawberry, red currants) and orange fruit while moderate acidity provides lift. Sweet oriental spices, barnyard, rose, and violet complete the picture. Such a delicious wine, really juicy and elegant. I will drink my remaining bottles within the next 3-5 years even though I think it will still be great in ten years' time.

I enjoyed this more than the 09 Pavelot Dominode. This was decanted for several hours. A mix of red and darker fruits, more open for business. I liked this.

Mine. Been opening these for several years and getting one on a good day has been problematic, but this bottle was everything I hoped for. Gorgeous fruit, complex spice, silky yet dynamic with a forever finish and more to come in the future.

Extremely light around edges (watermelon rim) and discreet, almost closed nose right out of the bottle. As it opens, red fruits get darker and show more body than expected - gaining weight and plushness. Red berries, earth and some mineral and herbs as it opens with silky tannins and some oak on med + finish. It needs time and a long decant. Very nice finish though plush, almost fat fruit masks both structure and secondary and tertiary notes at the moment.

Clear brick red with pale reddish-orange towards the rim. Very shy initially showing aromas of wild red berries, forest-floor and touch of spice. Returned back after 2-3 h, the nose has gotten more brooding showing darker red fruits, churned earth/beets. Medium bodied palate shows silky and earthy red berries, hint of licorice, good acidity, silky tannins and a earth/wood spice tinged finish.

A very drinkable Burgundy. Bright, black cherry coloring. Nose of barnyard, red fruit/cranberry, mild vanilla and subtle pepper. Very crisp and refreshing. 1st bottle of 4. Perhaps it would mellow with more time laying down but not sure it “needs” it. Full disclosure: while not opposed to cellaring bottles (and we have a few), we buy wine to drink…..because life is short! :-)

After finding several bottles over the years of this wine tough, unyielding, lacking in fruit, and tannic, it is finally delivering some reward: balance and elegance emerging around an intense core of tart cranberry fruit and classic PN spice. Should continue on its upward trajectory for years.

Last wine of the evening. Brought this as a "spare", but still ended up PnP'ring it towards the end of the dinner. Not knowing how this would fare, but the last bottle that I had almost a year ago did very well (delicious!). Wow, and well it did this time too! Chambolle'ish aromatics burst from the glass unreservedly - a potpourri of cherries, roses, herbs - so much vibrancy and play. Naturally, most if not all guesses gravitated to Chambolle. What surprised me (this time) was the complexity/layers on the palate - so balanced & elegant now, with more red-fruits plus bits of plums & earth. Incredible beauty! Proclaimed by a number of us as WOTN. Hrmm, perhaps I should backfill...
{bought on release, first of ? 12 or 18, sound cork, perfect fill} Deeper red than expected, classy Beaune scent with red much more than black fruits present; on palate has both the crisp Beaune flavor sets (red cherries, leather, some citrus pith) but also unexpected width and breadth - much more complete wine than I expected... my notes include even some warm earth Gevrey notes but the center to this wine is firmly in Beaune. Became more and more complex with more and more layers ... until we finished the last drop. Super wine.
Although now 13 years old, immediately decanted after tasting a sip from the bottle; held up and improved over 3-4 hours. Suspect some recent notes represent how this wine comes across immediately after opening without a decant. My bias is that this wine is a typical Jadot wine that takes a lot of time to come around. Recently had 1995 and 1996 Beaunes from Jadot that still benefited from a lot of air.

I'm not a Burgundy expert, but I've always loved the weight, balance, and flavor profile of wines from Beaune. This bottle is no exception, and is drinking very well today. Aromatic nose. On the palate, excellent fruit, medium-bodied, and no hint of gaminess - which made it a perfect match with wild Alaskan Coho. A longer finish would push my score a couple points higher.

Coop's bottle. I own this wine and no two so far have been remotely similar. And so it was with this one--yet another stranger--showing very dark color and meat-based smokey/spice flavors--I wrote down 'pastrami'! More like Roussillon than Burgundy. Quite drinkable, but odd with zero typicity.

1 hour decant. Light burgundy color, faintly brick red. Wonderful Pinot fruit undergirded by roast meat and other Unami-laden flavors. Plenty of tannins remain, indicating that there are years of good drinking lie ahead. That said, it’s wonderful now. Why wait?

Red center (darker than expected), red rim with some signs of age. Smooth and polished, brandied cherries and loganberries, damp leaves, Good fruit, brandied cherries again with other darker red fruits, smooth but not sweet, intense but not overpowering, some clay, a little smokey, earthy and vinous, alcohol is in check (13%), reasonable tannins, nice finish. Very good 1er cru that will get better with another 5 years of age. Good now after being open for 4 hours.

PnP'd. Grayish-garnet color. Needed about an hour for the scant fruit to emerge, but overall more developed and less ripe than some other bottles have shown in the past (lots of variation). Still, zero sediment, quite pleasant in the 2nd hour, and better with food than without.

I don’t have the time, patience, or money to search for the fabulous wine among the many Burgundies that are thin, or never open, or are flawed when they do. That said, I have always found the Jadot Beaune village wines to be really nice, soft and round pinots that are easy to enjoy and serve my purposes well (which is usually to open an evening with friends before moving on to big Napa Cabernets).

Hummm...trying to understand the critic’s elevated scores on this one. Nice wine for sure but almost classic ratings? I don’t see it. Light ruby color with a clear rim. The nose hits you with a wallop of cherry fruit and mocha latte. Ripe and plush palate - a touch new world that has a good bit of tannin remaining on the finish. A good mouthful of wine that right now is lacking nuance. Maybe time will do it good though I am worried that the green on the finish may win out. (88++?)
Progress day 2. Raspberry comes to the fore. Less green on the finish. Maybe it just needs time.

Even ruby throughout. Cheery ripe cherry aromas. Medium weight. Direct, relatively simple red fruit oriented New World profile, generous feel, but not overly rich and possessing a light earthy foundation to anchor it as well. Bright and easy to drink and enjoy, but not a wine that is meant for introspection or deep analysis. Just savor the fruit and don't worry about the rest.
More floral, light, and complex the second night

Surprisingly closed showing after a wonderful bottle last year. Light cherry notes with lovely forest and earth notes mixed in. Plenty of acidity here giving this a rather narrow feeling in the palate. Best to hold if this is indicative. Followed over 2 nights.

Surprised to see quite a few notes saying wine is past maturity. My bottles all have fills maybe 1/4” or less below the cork, were bought on release and are drinking great. Seems in a prime drinking window with more room to run. Red fruited like strawberry, medium body, and nice long finish. Tannins are soft (for a beaune) and overall really drinking nicely.

Clearly still evolving, continues to be restrained with anticipation of what is to come. Classic Burgundy nose with tertiary elements of forest floor coming through. The taste of raspberry is present with grippe tannin on the tongue. After two hours on the table the wine began to show a fuller rounder expression with the tannin receding. Four to five years and this wine will be a delicious pleasure.

ruby, brick rim - strawberry/cherry nose with undertones of earthiness and tobacco - soft, round red cherry fruit in the mouth - medium body with good acid-fruit balance - medium 10-15 sec finish - will never be a profound Burgundy, but a very nice food wine which is drinking well now - will easily last another 3-5 years, but further development? maybe some, but not high probability of a lot in my mind

Medium ruby color, fresh, bright, red & dark fruit, mushrooms and earthy. An ideal Beaune blend from a great producer and vintage. We bought a case last year at auction for our son’s wedding this November, I apologize in advance to the guest who won’t be able to enjoy this wine with us, but this wine still has years left to develop. Maybe we’ll enjoy it at the 1st anniversary party or possibly the 5th. #whatacelebrationitwillbe

Medium ruby. Ripe cherry and smoke. Middle weight, slight sap developing over time. Nice breadth and depth of dark red fruit flavors, a dash of green, and then a long soil finish. I thought this was completely ready in 2017, but this bottle showed that it will comfortably age for another 5 or more years. I like the complexity that the vineyard blend brings.

Lots of red fruits jumping out, the wine is balanced. Tertiary tea notes started to develop in the bottle. There is still lots of tannin left which is a bit surprising. The texture of the wine is a bit coarse probably due to the tannin.
I'd hold my patience for another 1-2 years before opening another bottle. Hopefully the wine starts to smoothen out a bit by then.

This was in a very different place than in 2015. Wow. As before, brown hued red. Again, stewed tomato, mushroom, tobacco and earth on the nose. Nez suave, finement épicé, un joli fruit rouge, ça pinotte. Très belle bouche, ronde et assez puissante, épicée, un fruit gourmand, presque confit. This continues to be delicious. It needs about an hour of air to strut it’s stuff. It leads with pretty aromas of raspberry and wood. The wine is blackish red with reasonable structure and tannin although they are pretty integrated now. There are lovely flavors of cherry, raspberry, and spice in a savoury mid palate. The finish cuts a little short but overall this delivers the goods and I think can continue to age and develop a degree of complexity.
From Magnum. This is an assemblage of Jadot's top Beaune 1er Cuvees, done in good vintages only. The quality of the material shows. Spices nose with red/brown aroma spectrum, marking the warm vintage. Good palate entry, stays fresh, long finish. Feels still young. I would wait till 2022 before opening this. Well made package at a good QPR. 93-94

Refreshing acidity and cherry fruit. Reasonable length but still quite a lot of tannin to resolve. I think I will leave my next bottle 2-3 years, and I think this will still be going strong in 5-10 years. Upgraded a point to 91 after a day in the decanter.

This is delicious and lovely. At a still early stage of development but beginning to strut its stuff this has a pretty nose of cherries, earth and flowers and a palate which is light, transluscent red berried fruit with cherry, raspberry, earth flavors and well integrated tannin. The finish is still a little pinched but my feeling is that wine is developing very nicely and will be in its optimal drinking window in a three to five years.

BH (10/12) review seems much more accurate (today) than WA (04/12) review. There is little evidence of the copious fruit described by WA 04/12 review. The wine currently displays indistinct aromatics with muted dark fruit. Suggest a good 2-3 hour decant if you must open one soon.

My experience with red burgundy is so hit and miss that I don’t play much with these wines. That said, the Jadot Beaune bottlings seem to be pretty reliable for a well priced pinot with some old world personality and the 2009 Celebration is no exception

Beginning its "just right" drinking window ... or I hope so, I have 23 more bottles. Lots of red fruit, maybe a very slight fizz at the end. Will be interesting to see how the other bottles fare. I believe in the subtle and affordable premiers crus of Beaune (and other villages) and always will.
To witness: I believe this jadot wants another year or two to fatten up, so im holding the ‘9 and ‘12 Anniversary cuvées.. —but at heart I’m a Burgundy guy—the girl preferred the 09 Switchback cab with no decant!!
Anyway: we both agreed our last sip of the jadot 150th was the best. Hold.

Well. The mystery ride that is this wine continues. I find the bottles so different. I almost believe they bottled different wines. Today’s was great. Decanted 90 minutes. Lovely, complex, almost Oregon on the nose and palette. Cherry and pressed strawberry, good length, still very “fresh”. Delightful. If only that were true with every bottle.

Not very enjoyable when opened. There’s a small amount of carbon dioxide that took longer than expected to blow off. The wine came across as thin and out of balance. Corked the bottle after a glass and drank it the next day. It still took the carbon dioxide some time to blow off but when it did the wine was great. If you’re going to drink now give it a vigorous decant.

Light ruby, rather muddled red. Cherry, copious sous-bois and spices. I can see why other notes describe this as thin; it doesn't have much depth or concentration. Between the acidity and the tannins, the structure is at the forefront. Still, it's flavorful; lithe, if not generous.

Inclined to agree with Jonanator's observations. Initially found this to be very "New World" in style but a transformation has definitely occurred with several years of bottle age. Presenting classic profiles of a nice young Burgundy that should drink quite well for many years.

Tight at first but opened up after an hour to become a good, classic 1er Beaune Pinot Noir. Slightly rustic but a perfect match with our winter vegetable stew, and more acidity than a lot of other wines from this vintage. For Beaune in 2009 it has much more freshness than other producers—reflecting the style of legendary Jadot winemaker Jacques Lardiere.

This bottle has morphed into something delicious and undeniably Burgundy in the last few years. The last bottle I tried was much more "new world" in extraction, almost Californian. This bottle was elegant and composed. Drank well after an hour of air, but I will stash away the rest for at least a few more years.

Beguiling nose of red fruits - surprising depth to the bouquet. Decent weight in the mouth - definitely took on more as time went on. A tad short and a little bit grippy on the finish. Just entering its drinking window - plenty of time for it to take on some more complexity. A nice, if slightly simple drop.

No doubt it was much too soon to open this wine, especially from magnum, but we were 11 people, and the sweetbreads course begged for a Burgundy. It was certainly tight, with only a very little development. That being said, it had moved away from it's California-esque over the top fruity beginnings, and actually resembled a Burgundy. It did do very well with the food.
No reason to open a bottle, or especially a magnum of this for many more years (10?), but it's good to see it being more of what it's supposed to be.

On release, one review indicated "stunning Burgundy". I bought 6 bottles in 2013 and and drank one bottle a month ago. That bottle was light and one dimensional. I tried another now and found it to be much better; cherries and red fruit, fresh. Still light but with better structure. Given my experience, and that of others, it's hard to predict what the next bottle will be like. I'll drink over the near term.

Well this wine is a strange one. All too often it comes over as thin and disappointing. Some mild cherry, strawberries, a little tannin. It improves with some air. But ultimately it disappoints. But then sometimes you get a great bottle; Classic beaune that evolved and changes in the glass. But not today. The CellarTracker comments seem to bear this out...

Weird... maybe an off bottle or possibly palate fatigue tonight? My last tasting of this wine was exceptional. This time it was a bit flat, austere, and dry and not giving up much. However, it did much better after about 2 hours with exposure to air. Not what I remember of this wine.

A puzzling beauty. Out of the gate, it is typical medium weight Beaune with sparkling acidity and drying tannins. After a few hours it takes on more weight and unfolds into a satiny and rich, slightly complex mouthfull. Earthy, but feminine, it goes from typical high tone to lower tone flavors in a matter of hours..A beguiling wine, with obvious potential for a few more years of aging.

I have two different lots of this, one without the special '150' label on it and one with. This was the without. needed an hour to open. Muted nose. Good balance and mouthfeel, nice fruit on the palate with tannins not evident and good, not bracing, acidity. Clean on a medium finish. Very nice bottle rounding into form.

Third tasting of this wine three years in a row... Thankful to have a case to taste it each year. The first time I had this, I thought AG's rating was wrong... Then I gave it time in the bottle. AG is right... Give it time. Each year I have this, the wine puts on more weight and personality. Even better than when I last had it in April 2015. If you don't have a case in your cellar to sample, then I recommend waiting another 5 years and AG's prediction will be 100% correct. It gets better with age... Trust me.

I am having a very different experience with this wine than is the case with other reviewers. I opened this one for an hour+.....no decant. It was very good......maybe even "classic." I am confused as to why others are rating this one so much lower than I am.

This may still be too young, admittedly, but this wine seems not to have aged well. I have had several bottles over the past 3 years and it never seemed to boast any particularly interesting qualities. It now seems to have acquired some rough tannins with a lot of underbrush and earth, but little in the way of appealing or elegant fruit. Jadot's 2010 Beaune 1er reds are a marked contrast, notable for their powerful fruit, but that of course is the vintage. Still, many houses produced much better '09s, especially at this price point, at least at this stage.
I'll leave my note above as representing the initial taste on the first night. The new score (originally I said 86) 88-89 is fully justified as this wine completely changed once it had 24-48 hours to breathe. Still not a powerhouse, but quite well-balanced and pretty. Don't think it will merit a higher score, and still not a great QPR, but I'm enjoying it.

There is nothing at all defective with this Premier Cru Burgundy from the eminent house of Jadot, but it does nothing special to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the firm. Some mild cherry, orange oil, and leather notes suffice for aroma. The palate is leathery and structured, but undistinguished, unless one likes faint strawberry jam.
It actually comes across more like a $12.99 Trader Joe's central coast of California Pinot Noir, inoffensive, rather ripe, but without breed or elegance. Something of a rip-off. Five bottles left. May the taste improve. 4 + 10 +10 + 6
Fruit forward, mainly cherry on the palate. Did not detect any secondary nuance or development, but the tannins and structure has mellowed and become more integrated. A little too straightforward.

Showing nice development since last year. Tannins and oak have softened. Nice blackberry juicy fruit with a earthiness to balance. Not a lot of complexity but delicious. Drink this now while the fruit is vibrant.

Medium/light ruby with only a tad of sediment. When we evaluate a wine, we want balance and fruit. This wine is impeccably balanced with precise mineral flavors and a light to medium amount of Burgundian fruit. Drinking nicely now. A model 90 point pinot noir.

Brown hued red. Stewed tomato, mushroom and earth on the nose. The palate is on the jammy side with some black fruit mixed with the typical red cherries. There is also some nice mineral inflected earth on the palate. Nicely made and enjoyable. Does not give me the extra dimensions I hope for in Burgundy. Will time improve it?

Clear, deep garnet in color, medium intensity with youthful aromas of rose petal, red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, sweet spice, cedar and forest floor. Dry, with corresponding levels of acidity/alcohol; richly layered flavors of aforementioned fruit are placed upon a rustic backdrop of green herbs and earth. Full bodied and elegantly balanced; softly textured tannins wrap the palate with lingering effect resulting in an intensely rewarding finish. Approachable now and with proper handling should have no trouble showing well for a decade.

PNP, On the lighter side, and drinking very nicely now, did improve over time, unsure about its future. I'm sure it will continue to drink well, but just not sure it needs to age to be as enjoyable as it can be and is now.

Decanted for 1 hour. Aromas of cherry, earth, mushroom and rhubarb. Nose really jumping out of the glass. Flavored of cherry, rhubarb, mushroom and ends with a earthy note. Finish lasts about 20-25 seconds. Still very young at this point though.

Tart red raspberry fruit with a hint of black cherry. A little bit of forest floor/mushroom flavor. A moderate streak of mineral, and good acidity. It is an enjoyable dinner wine though I doubt that it will evolve into anything super interesting.

Young and tight, but it has all the right things in all the right places. I'm excited to see what this becomes with at least three more years in bottle. It has already put on more weight since the last time I had it this time last year. Bright red fruit and purity. The aromatics are still a bit restrained throwing off some mineral and wet stone. The finish is better than the nose, but it still has some grip. I look forward to drinking this again in the years ahead.

Beaune & Savigny (Soif, Clapham): Bright, lovely strawberry fruit. Plenty of oomph. Mid weight, plush fruit. Decent structure. It's all here. Another that would have tuned up a bit if served cooler. ***(*)

I am a big fan of the 09 Burgundy so I could be biased. As I expected, it shed the jammy fruits showing classic Beaune nose of dark fruits, mineral and earth. The fruit impression has evolved red to black. What surprised me was that the nose has evolved much faster than I expected showing mushroom, stem and tree bark. The palate displays good concentration, round and soft texture, mineral, good acidity and nicely integrated tannins. It is neither polished nor complex but still very enjoyable. It is evolving nicely.
Surprisingly accessible at this stage of its life - closed aromatics, but very accessible palate. I drink a fair amount of Jadot and thought this was a bit too polished and made in wide appealing style, but makes sense given the special designation. Solid 1er with black and purple fruit, decent minerality and good length. For the price, I'd prefer some of Jadot's regular Beaune 1ers.

Menthol on the nose. On the palate, black cherry, menthol, and tart red berries, with some citrusy notes on the finish and strong acidity. It's not particularly complex, at least not yet, but the contrast between the sweet fruit and the acidic finish is right up my alley. At about $40, average value for the money.

With air, an effusive red-fruit and spice dominant nose. Nice acidity but a bit thin as many have noted. Better with a few hours of air, certainly came to show a nice mix of red fruit, fennel, vanilla, toasty oak and a precise acidity lingering on the palate. Should keep for a few more years though I personally doubt it will ever be a 95 point Pinot.

Wow. Medium color, fragrant nose. Plenty of fruit, leaning a little towards an Oregonian style, but beautifully balanced. Nice, bright acidity. Truly delicious. Enough tannins to indicate good aging potential.

Westchester Wine School Premium Burgundy Tasting (Mamaroneck, NY): Drank at WWS tasting blind vs. Arnoux Echezeaux. This wine was a medium ruby color, showing no signs of age. A spicy, fruity nose. Medium to full-bodied, with lots of red ripe fruit. A pronounced spicy edge to this wine. Overall, this wine came across as a bit over extracted and oaky, somewhat ordinary wine. Not much length either. Perhaps some bottle age will improve its qualities.

The previous poster's notes are spot-on. I too believe this wine lacks the fruit of the vintage, and this is slightly too acidic for my tastes. Perhaps it just needs a few years to settle down.
My last 5 bottles will not be touched for at least another 4-5 years.

Light cherry colour. Nose offers up primary small red fruits, some spice and oak. Lacks plush fruit of 09 vintage and is a little thin with marked acidity. Interesting to see if it improves with more cellar time.

Took more than 3 hours of breathing in the open bottle to start to wake up, but still pretty much half-asleep all the way; the nose, very rich aromas of caramel, cherries, mints, strawberries, tobacco leaves, and some dry pebbles; the palate, rather acidic, solid, and tight, with mostly red berries, licorice, and a touch of wet pine wood; the finish, fruity and medium+ long with lingering mild spices and purple berries; overall, 90-91 points at this young age but showing much upside potential in the future; should be left alone for 4-5 years at least.

See 11/28/12 note. This wine is very good, but still disappointing in light of Antonio Galloni's VERY enthusiastic review in the WA (94 points!). Clear ruby. Reticent nose of smoke, cherry, and spice. Bright palate of ripe cherry, strawberry, plum, vanilla, and spice. Sumptuous, silky mouthfeel. Excellent length. Focused acidity. Mild tannins. It has improved a bit with almost a year in the cellar, so one can hope for more in the future.
This wine has an almost non-existent nose. I couldn't extract the slightest bit of any aroma or bouquet. Tasting it is only slightly better. It is thin and has a quick finish. I can get a touch of fruit and some tannin, but not much else. Take the label off this and you would expect to pay $12 for a bottle of this quality.

PNP....explosive perfumed nose full of spicy red fruit with floral notes. Picked up alcohol on the nose which was off putting, but overall loved it. Palate was big with some chewy tannin. Dark red fruit, spice, plenty of oak & underbrush. This needs some time to come together...another 2-4 years.
An okay to good wine but at $40+ there are better alternatives. My wine drinking friend Jen has a crummy job and had to work tonite and couldn't share this with us but she didn't miss anything. A little light in color and lacking in depth on the nose and in mouth feel the wine does excel on the palate. Nice notes of cola, blackberry, tart fruit on the palate with a decent length to the finish.

Pop and pour. The color is slightly brown from the stem inclusion. The nose shows herbs, red fruit and lift from the stems. Takes time in the glass to show its best. Resolves nicely to give up plush fruit with great balance. Should age well and really demands another couple years in the bottle.

Lots of underbrush and a hint of strawberry on the nose. The palate follows with the underbrush, bright fruits and nice acid. Medium weight. Interesting, and much better with food.
Medium depth. Full, ripe red fruit nose. A bit alcoholic served too warm. Medium weight, sweet strawberries, a touch of green herb and respectable acidity. Rather New World-like in some respects, but it grew on me as it sat in the glass since it does have cooler structural elements.

Starts very airy, with bright fruits and a faint whiff of cola. Seems more like a light Sonoma Coast-style Pinot Noir (I know, I know, revoke my French visa, whatever; I am telling it like it is). This has a mouthfeel like a slightly overripe cherry: a juicy red fruit flavor with a musty side. The tannins are discouragingly sedate. I ask myself, "Self, if the purpose of the Burgundian classification system is to demarcate the areas (Premier and Grand crus) with unique, distinguishing qualities, what is the point of mixing them all together?" Alas, in response, this wine perched, and sat, and nothing more. Easy drinking, but I expected something a bit more compelling. Drag, man.
This is very Beaune in character. Clear red-garnet in the glass with aromas of tart raspberry, strawberries, and rose petal. Young and tight on the palate, with flavors of youthful red berries, cranberry sauce, and clove. A fair amount of acid for an '09 -- this drinks more like an '08. Sinewy and deceptively long. There's a lot going on here, and it's surprisingly complex. It's an oxymoron -- but it has a lean density to it. Even on day two, this is infantile. It will be interesting to see where this goes over the next decade. I'd be inclined to buy this in magnum (tasted from a 750 mL).

DC shindig at Domaine wine storage – Arnoux RSV, 10 Raveneau, Chave, Rayas, Futo, Jadot 150 (Domaine Wine Storage - Washington D.C.): Not a big fan of Beaune but purchased based Antonio and a good friend’s recommendation. A few who tasted at the beginning thought to jammy and cloying but when I tried after a couple hours of air, showing nicely. Bright red fruits, candied fruit, caramel and mineral. It is very enjoyable now and will improve at least for the next ten years. Even with my generous 100 point scale, my rating is 91.

After seeing Antonio Galloni's glowing review of this wine (rated 94!), I bought a case. This is my first bottle. Clear ruby. Nose of smoke and cherries. Medium palate of cherry, strawberry, vanilla, and minerals. Excellent length. Bright acidity. Lacks a little of the earthiness and "wow" factor I was expecting. Still, very good QPR for Burgundy.

Nice soft, light red in color. Lovely mineral nose, with a hint of pear - and some warmth. Took a while to reveal itself - at least an hour - but once it did the initially harsh annis calmed down, and good but soft and light fruit came forward. Liked it enough that it is hard to wait to see how it really develops over several more hours Certainly needs more time, but very nice, and decent value.

This showed pretty well, with the sappy quality of the 2009 vintage, but with a steely, racy texture... almost a sensation of gun metal. Lovely red fruits and spice, with nervy reverb on the palate. Not much complexity yet, but this just so young. I'll be curious to see how this develops.

Fantastic wine. Dark red in color. Vibrant nose. Serious weight on the palate with red fruits, spice and Burgundian funk. Did not want this bottle to end. All this for under $30 a bottle? Insane. Jadot really killed it in Beaune in 2009.

Light bright red. Very cherry fruit driven, lots of red cherry in the nose and in the mouth. The nose also has a hint of tea. Great acid. Lots of fruit and acid seems to bode well for a long future but I think it is a more near term wine, like a lot of the 05s.

Popped and poured and drank over 2 hours. Medium bright ruby red. Perfumey and aromatic nose of juicy cherries, raspberries, white pepper and some herbs. Lighter on the palate with juicy red pinot fruit flavours, fresh acidity and a fairly long wood and spice finish. There are fine tannins here along with hints of minerality on the pure and focused finish. After some time in the glass beautiful Asian spice came through on the nose. This is really a nice young Burgundy that has great balance between fruit and structure and while its offering a lot of enjoyment (in a youthful sort of way) right now, this should develop into something really nice over the next 5-10+ years. Excellent. 90+

Wines Through the Decades (Jade Palace, Forum Galleria): A 150th anniversary blend from all of Jadot's Beaune plots - I thought this was a nice little Beaune 1er Cru, especially at its price point. It had a sweet, perfumy 2009 nose of ripe strawberries and red cherries flecked with a bit of earth and a bit of spice. The palate was also ripe with pure, sweet strawberry notes at the fore, but it was nicely fresh and well-structured with fine tannins still coating the back-pakate. It had a nice finish too, lingering with a bit of wood spice and stalky green notes. Still a baby, but I thought this was really good for what it is - a solid Beaune at a fair price tag. One which should improve over the short to medium term too.

2011 Simple Dinner Series 14 :: Ed's big day (Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant, The Forum Shopping Mall, Orchard Road): Alcohol :: 13.5% Vibrant ruby red. Youthful, very perfume aromas of red florals, red cherry and chalky minerality. Entry was soft, make me wonder what's the fuss about this wine, but the later part proved me wrong. The structured started to show after the entry. This has excellent mid palate sap with lots of bright red fruits and some dark fruits that firmly supported by the firm tannic backbone. One will not believe a wine with this material for the mid term only cost less than GBP20! While this seem a little bit fruit driven, the oak kick in here that bring in mocha like aftertaste on the truly juicy, long finish. Very good!

Initially very lifted nose, shifted to cherry, mushroom
Beautiful brick coloring
Smooth tannins with a slightly black currant finish
Better slightly chilled, alcohol too prevalent otherwise

I don't think there's a rush to drink these but, at the same time, if you have some, it's definitely worth trying now.

Trust me.

Vibrant ruby red. Very good!
