Friday, February 1, 2013 - Aromas of bright red cherries, along with some fresh roses and lavender. On the palate, sour cherry and raspberry flavors on top of soft tannins and fresh acid. There are some herbal and floral notes, but not the earthy, peppery aspects that I look for in Saint-Joseph. A lighter, fresher style that reminds me more of a middle-of-the-road Cotes-du-Rhone than a St. Joseph. With time, bits of green olive and dried tobacco came out. A good wine, but probably something to drink over the next year or two.
