DnP. Dark red, red rim, 5.5. Aromatic peppery classic nose. Freshnes on the palate, again peppery and also pine, well balanced and elegant. Drink now - 2017

Aromas of bright red cherries, along with some fresh roses and lavender. On the palate, sour cherry and raspberry flavors on top of soft tannins and fresh acid. There are some herbal and floral notes, but not the earthy, peppery aspects that I look for in Saint-Joseph. A lighter, fresher style that reminds me more of a middle-of-the-road Cotes-du-Rhone than a St. Joseph. With time, bits of green olive and dried tobacco came out. A good wine, but probably something to drink over the next year or two.

Non-blind. One of the last glasses fr glass-btl at 1 star L'Effervesence (Tokyo). Like a better young Cote-du-Rhone with raw Syrah fruit. Nothing wrong, nothing special.

Simple straightforward Rhone Syrah. Excellent food wine. Not overly profound or complex.
