Sunday, January 11, 2015 - Show stopper. Beautiful nose, floral and expressive with a sweet tone to it. Smooth and sweet on the attack, glide through the palate, slight warmth at finish. Silky and oily texture. Medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and excellent balance. Appears to have added on more weight and complexity since the previous bottle about 2 years ago, shows better spices too. Big improvement and mind-blowing stuff, no sign of it shutting down yet. This is a village? Really? Probably as good as it gets for a Chambolle village! Should beat out a lot of CM 1er Crus. Easily blows the 2007 Mugnier 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale out of water. Went and bought another 6-pack. From Mugnier website, CM is assembled from 2 plots , Les Plantes (0.56 Ha, 1er Cru, planted in 1968-69) and La Combe d'Orveau (0.77 Ha, Village, planted beween 1952-1998). So there is decent portion coming from 1er Cru. Need to pick up more back vintages of this wine. 92-94 pts (A)
