Saturday, March 30, 2013 - This was WOTN at the Seder at G and A's judging by the quickly emptied bottle. (I preferred a Vouvray, but no knock here--this is delicious.) Although tannins are present in this dark red, it's still pretty soft--the tannins are just so velvety and smooth. It had a little of the quality of Carmenere in the tannins, but lacked the green flavors I sometimes find in the Chilean star. The fruit wasn't obvious here, but it was present--a little plummy. Lots of perfume to the nose--some roses, more fruits. This worked nicely with the dried fruit that went alongside the chicken. I don't think this is going to improve tremendously, so I will probably drink my last bottle soon.
