Wednesday, April 12, 2023 - Quite a good wine! The ‘07 was the first vineyard-designated wine off this site, and is stylistically a bit different from the more recent vintages. At age 16, still pitch black but with a supple, velvety texture. The wine has a briary wild-blackcap character, with a nose centered on roasted fruit, rose petals, crème caramel, hints of peppermint. Tart with a tannic bite but it works well, fades into a long saline finish. Fully mature, but no rush to drink them up. Impressive!
