Tuesday, March 10, 2015 - Duration: 2.5 hours
Food: Northern Chinese
Aroma: leather, damp forest, hints of smoke, red and black fruits
Condition: perfect
Note: a very very well conditioned bottle. Fill level was into neck and was easily unbottled with a corkscrew. 1984 has always been a strange vintage, I didnt have much hope in this vintage but this came to be a pleasent surprise. The nose was expressive but not too invasive, notes of leather and smoke mixed with a nice balance of black fruits appeared immediately. Breathe in the bottle for an hour and start drinking and you'll enjoy this bottle. You should drink this with a proper Burgundy glass as I has a comparison between a Zalto Burgundy glass and a Reidel Grape Bordeaux glass and the Burgundy glass worked much better in terms of delivering the aromas.
