There was some light grassy straw notes. Boulay makes terrific wines that stand apart from much of Sancerre but I'm more and more convinced they are actually most interesting when younger. I think the fruit expression they get on the young wines is what makes them unique. This is certainly a nice wine that will work great with food but it's not all that interesting or notable now. I will buy more Boulay and drink them within five years of bottling going forward.
