Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - I should have let this get quite a bit more air as it kept evolving over the short time it took to finish this off. This is more tightly wound than the '09, tending a little more toward St. Joseph-like bright acidity and redder fruits like currants, but it still kicks in with green olive, black pepper, and a finish that hints at darker and more savory notes with time. I would venture that there will be a long future and the wine will put on weight as time goes by. I'd say it's in line with the price I paid now, like a good St. Joe, but on its way to overperforming as it fleshes out, harmonizes those savory parts, and delivers on the Jemrose promise. Looking forward to the 2012 when it becomes available. (There will be no 2011, as all the Syrah was declassed into Cardiac Cuvee.)
