Sunday, December 11, 2022 - Disgorgement labeled L.0308, unknown base vintage. Purchased from Rare Wine Company in late 2017, so at least 5 years post disgorgement. Per the back label, "the source for Le Val Cornet is a tiny plot of old Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines planted in Kimmeridgian soil on the remote eastern edge of the Aube."
Last drunk in 2018, this is very delicious although it has barely moved since then. I will hold my final bottle for at least 3 years hoping for further development.
Retasted a week later from under Champagne stopper (more than half the bottle left over) and it's quite tasty and still very fresh. This release has a long life ahead.
